These traditionally knit baby mittens are knit by hand in-the-round with imported, super fine weight yarn on US size 1 double-pointed needles (not cranked on a machine) to obtain a gauge of 8 stitches x 12 rows per inch -- that's over 96 stitches per square inch! Wool/nylon blend thumbless warm winter mittens are hand knit in smooth stockinette stitch with seamless construction. Left and right mitts are interchangeable. Ribbed cuffs gently hug the wrist.
The thumbless mini mitts are joined with a knitted tubular coat cord to prevent them from being lost. The knitted tubular cord is thicker and sturdier than a single crocheted chain. Simply slip each mitten through a jacket sleeve and secure the cord with a safety pin to the inside back neck of the jacket to hold it in place.
Fiber Content/Care Instructions: Top quality, long-wearing, four-ply yarn (imported from Romania) is a blend of 70% superwash virgin wool and 30% nylon. Hand or machine wash (gentle cycle) in cold water. Reshape and lay flat to dry. (This washable wool blend yarn does not felt.)
